It begins the six month term of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union.

    On the 1st of January, Spain assumed the Presidency of the European Union, till the 30th of June. The political priorities of its program revolve around:

• Put into practice the “Lisboan Treaty” that came into force the last 1st of December.
• Give a boost to the coordination of the economical politics destined to consolidate the recovery and the sustainable growth of Europe. 
• Reinforce the European Union at the international politic background.
